Food Sources

The steppe eagle has behavior not expected from eagles, that of a scavenger, preferring others make the kill. However it is, unlike vultures, picky about the meat it eats and chooses fresh kill only. They have no problem steeling prey from other carnivores. Being very capable to hunt for itself, steppe eagles will only undertake active hunting and killing if they are forced to.
